Need-to-Know Stuff about Urban Nature St. Peter-Ording
We’re cool with just ‘you’ — no need for formal stuff here!
We like to keep things personal and see you as more than just one-time guests. That’s why we use the informal ‘you’ with everyone here. If you’re not quite comfortable with that, feel free to talk to our team and we’ll find a solution.
What are the check-in and check-out times at Urban Nature Hotels?
Check-in from 3 pm – we’ll be busy making everything nice & cozy for you beforehand (yay!). Check-out by 11 am – we’ll already be starting to miss you.
What the WiFi?
Free Wi-Fi is included at Urban Nature St. Peter-Ording. We’re not stuck in the past, you know.
Can Buddy come along?
Of course :-) What’s a holiday without our favourite four-legged friends? We’ve got selected dog-friendly rooms where you and your pup can feel right at home. Dogs cost €20 a day and are welcome everywhere except the Lila Wolken Self Care Club and the restaurant (for hygiene reasons, sorry!). Don’t want to leave your darling alone in the room? No worries! There are lovely spots for you both to hang out at Drifters Hang Out.
Park smart. But where?
Getting here by car: Hit the road to somewhere in between! Best to take the A23 (exit Heide-West – Wesselburen – Eidersperrwerk). We’ve got an underground car park and two charging stations for your electric car, of course. Just drive past the three red high-rises and you’ll be with us in no time.
Heads up: Please, don’t even try to drive along the beach promenade — trust us, it definitely won’t work! If your sat nav gets confused, just punch in Fritz-Wischer Straße 9 ... and off you go.
Parking fees:
Guests: €10 per night/day
Restaurant guests with a minimum spend of €50: €10
EV charging fee: €10 per charge (on top of parking fees)
Non-guests: €25 per day
Not keen on driving? How about the train? There’s an hourly connection from Hamburg to St. Peter-Ording. With a quick change, you’ll be there in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Best to get off at “Bad St. Peter-Ording.” From there, it’s an easy 15-minute stroll (via “Hund von Eden” – “Mondenkind” – turn right just after the bus stop and follow the path) or you can cruise the last bit in a trusted taxi. Alternatively, take bus line 3 (“Cityshuttle”) to the stop “Am Kurpark” — just a relaxed 3-minute walk from there.
Or by plane: Sorry, no jets or UFOs landing nearby — the closest airport is Hamburg (about 150 km away). From there, continue by train or car.
By the way… The “Cityshuttle” (local bus) is free for you in St. Peter-Ording — no matter how you arrive — but only once you have your Urban Nature guest card (available digitally from the tourism office, valid from your arrival day).
Is there a charging station for electric vehicles?
Fully charged… thanks to the two charging stations for your electric car. Right here in our underground car park.
Which payment methods are accepted at Urban Nature?
Money, money, money - honey? You can pay in cash, by card or credit card (Master Card, Visa and American Express). Yey!
What does the area around St. Peter-Ording have to offer?
St. Peter-Ording offers a fascinating mix of nature, culture, and adventure. The iconic stilt houses on the beach are an absolute must-see — wooden huts up to seven metres high on stilts, providing a unique view over the Wadden Sea. The Westerhever Lighthouse, with its red and white facade, offers breathtaking views over the entire Eiderstedt Peninsula and is another highlight of the region.
For nature lovers, the birdwatching hut at Tümlauer Bay is a hidden gem for spotting rare bird species in their natural habitat. The UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea invites you to exciting mudflat hikes, where you can experience the dynamic landscape between land and sea up close.
The over twelve-kilometre-long sandy beach offers plenty of opportunities for beach activities, from surfing to relaxing strolls. For cyclists, the Viking-Frisian Route, an approximately 180-kilometre cycling path between the North and Baltic Seas that starts in St. Peter-Ording, is a fantastic way to explore the region.
And for a chill break amidst all the adventures, we’re here for you :-)
