You'll find the X-H2O water sports center right on the North Sea - the base for anyone who loves waves and needs wind in their face. It doesn't matter if you're just picking up your first kite or are already an experienced surfer across the North Sea: At X-H2O, there are courses for every level - from surfing to stand-up paddling and windsurfing. Even for kids! You can take single lessons or sign up for a course lasting several days. Good vibes, good equipment and real pros await you.

Beach volleyball

The beach in St. Peter-Ording is not only huge, but also perfect for sporty beach moments. With over 12 kilometers of the finest sand, you'll always find a free field for digging, kicking or chilling with the crew. There are volleyball courts at almost every bathing spot - nets are ready, the sand is soft and the atmosphere? Ultra relaxed. Amber Walk

Ready for a real coastal adventure? Go on a treasure hunt with Holger on the Amber Walk. No, you won't be digging here - you'll be strolling along the beach with a keen eye on the hunt for the "gold of the north". Even if the finds are usually small, the fun and knowledge that Holger brings with him are huge. You will learn how to recognize potential sites, what to look out for when collecting and gain exciting insights into tides, currents and oceanography. Dates? Horseback riding on the beach

Wide open spaces, wind and waves - and you in the middle of it all on horseback. Sounds like something out of a movie? Welcome to SPO! Here you can ride out at any time of year - whether at sunrise, in the fog or at low tide. Riding lessons, rides on the beach or pony rides for the little ones - everything is possible. Important to know: For riding on the beach, you need a special ticket (as a daily, weekly or annual version - analog or digital). And please always keep an eye on the tides - better safe than sorry. The beaches in Böhl and Südstrand in particular are perfect for a ride by the sea.

On the road on wheels

Easy-going through the pine forest or at full speed along the dyke – St. Peter-Ording and bikes are a perfect match. The miles of cycle paths meander through dunes and salt marshes and take you to your next adventure in a relaxed manner. E-bike or classic? You decide. And because SPO is at the forefront when it comes to bike-friendliness, you will find rental stations on every corner. But beware: you have to be quick, especially during the summer season - so it's best to book in advance. Nice to know: At the Urban Nature Hotel, you can also hire longboards on site and glide along the promenade with flow. Or take a handcart with you to the beach - beach setup to go: blanket, drinks, Bluetooth speaker? Everything included.

Where can you go kitesurfing in St. Peter-Ording?

St. Peter-Ording is an absolute hotspot for kitesurfers - whether you are just starting out or have loved the wind for years.

Kitesurfing in SPO is only possible in the two official kitesurfing zones - Ording-North (directly at the X-H2o water sports center) and Ording-South. Both spots offer wide open spaces, North Sea vibes and perfect conditions depending on the wind direction. Important: Please only kite in these designated areas - the rest of the beach belongs to the national park!

Is St. Peter-Ording a good place to go on vacation with a dog?

Definitely! SPO is super dog-friendly with extra dog beaches, plenty of space to run around and natural paths right on the dyke. Pets are also welcome at the Urban Nature Hotel. Want to know more?
